Our times is
a Taiwanese romance comedy film released in 2015, directed by Frankie Chen. It
is about an office worker Truly Lin’s flashing back 20 years to her time in
high school. She reminisces about teaming up with a friend to take down her
rivals, and her high school love life.
This movie has the highest box office in many
Chinese speaking countries in 2015 and got many good reviews from international
movie lovers. Due to the high volume of good reviews of this movie circulating
the internet, I decided to watch this movie and make a review on it too.
This movie is way nicer than I expected. The movie
is set back in year 1995 and the director professionally portrayed the costume,
background, music, settings and language of that year. There is no
contradiction with history in this movie. This movie is cute, tear jerking and
heart-warming. I think the sad part of this movie isn’t the plot or storyline,
it is the way they make audience think about memories on our first love, and
the regret and pain we went through. This movie also has many fun and silly
parts that will make you laugh out loud. This movie runs for 135 mins, but
despite the length of the movie, it had an energetic pace with fine music
and heart-warming scenes.
In general, I recommend it to all movie lovers,
especially if you like teen romance. Don't give up on this if you are an
adult because everyone has a past and everyone understand love, and love
and relationship isn’t divided by age groups.
I would rate this movie 10/10 if I could, because it is an absolutely
amazing film and I love it a lot.
P.S
to girls who love Asian guys: The main actors are really hot too 😉
